KWL Architects put together a motley group of individuals to take part in the 2018 South West Tough Mudder, which comprises a 10-mile run interspersed with 21 near impossible obstacles; we are still undecided as to whether this was a challenge, an act of bravado or most likely just a momentary lapse of sanity.
With our core business being the design of care facilities for the elderly we thought we should use this occasion to support The Alzheimer's Society. Alzheimer's has personally impacted on a lot of our lives and we have seen the devastating effects it has on the families and witnessed the cruel results as it pulls people’s lives apart so felt any way we could help would be very worthwhile.
The event was fantastic and all who took part finished the course even though we were electrocuted, dunked in a skip full of ice, dragged through mud and snagged by barbed wire. All who took part are keen to repeat the madness next year along with a few new colleagues.
The result of this adventure was that we managed to raise in the region of £1,500 for The Alzheimer’s Society which will hopefully go some small way in helping research or support to a family fighting this cruel disease.
